The U.S. Men’s National Team is the highest level of programming for the Junior age group and will represent the United States at the NORCECA Continental Championship in the summer of 2014.  The 2nd tryout, training, and travel arrangements will be decided and posted here once the date of the competition has been released by NORCECA – hopefully by February of 2014.  Typically for the Junior age group, 19 – 24 athletes will be selected for an extended training and tryout period, at the end of which the 12 players will be selected to travel together to compete in the international competition.  Depending on the date of the competition, at times this team may be selected directly from the spring tryouts without an additional tryout period.  These athletes have the longest and most significant time commitment of all programs, however USA Volleyball covers all associated costs for this program.  Additional details will be added as more information becomes available.

The Men’s Junior A2 Program is run every other year (even year, like 2014) as a preparation program and feeder program from the USA Men’s Junior National Team.  The A2 Program is co-located with the training block of the MJNT, prior to that team participating in NORCECA Continental Championships in an effort to qualify for Men’s Junior World Championships the succeeding year.  The Junior National Team gets the benefits of having a competition/sparring partner prior to NORCECA; and the JA2 athletes get the opportunity to demonstrate to the MJNT coaches that they are worthy of consideration for the World Championships roster next year.
