The event features the majority of the best teams from USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline teams, USA Volleyball Region High Performance teams and international squads. The USAV HP pipeline will have 27 teams participating in the HPC. Out of USA Volleyball’s 40 Regional Volleyball Associations, 21 will field at least one team in this year’s HPC representing 56 teams. Rounding out the entries are eight international teams including five from Puerto Rico and one each from New Zealand, Canada and Dominican Republic.
Pool play opens the tournament on July 22. The playoff brackets conclude the tournament on July 26 for all seven divisions.
The HPC features an international format with some variations of FIVB rules including the experimental U-6 (no limit on entry per player; six subs per team). Further, a team can designate up to two liberos for a given match with only one allowed in the match at the same time. Matches are best-of-five sets format with most teams playing eight matches during the event.
The HPC will have three courts (Courts 13, 14 and 15) live streamed throughout the tournament, along with the championship matches on court 15.
