What's good America?

Hey everybody Matt West here to tell you about our awesome victory tonight over Puerto Rico. But all in all what I want to say is, we did it. We've officially been awarded one of the three berths for World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey next year. We swept Puerto Rico tonight in stunning fashion giving us the opportunity to defend our title as Junior NORCECA Champions. Tomorrow night we take on Canada, in what ought to be the best match of the tournament. Prior to this tournament our squad had scrimmaged them 4 times making this the fifth time in 14 days our two teams have faced each other. In other words we know each other pretty well which will make the match that much better to watch and play in for both teams. Tomorrow we have another serve and pass in the morning to prepare ourselves for Canada. We're all very excited at the chance to go back to back in this tournament and hopefully be able to beat Canada in the finals just as we did 2 years ago on their home court.

What's cracking America,

Today was our day off, we all were able to get a good days rest after playing three consecutive nights. I think a majority of the team didn't wake up until about 10:45 or 11 a.m. Today was a day to get better at the little things we have continued to focus on throughout the tournament. We got after it today during practice. We used the full 90 minutes of practice time that was given to us to our advantage and used the opportunity to get better, learn more about the game, and fine tune the little aspects of the squad. I'm sure most people think 90 minutes isn't nearly enough time to run solid practice, but it is what it is and we use every minute in the gym to its fullest. After a solid practice most of the squad went a spent the day with their parents. A lot of the guys went to the Garden of the Gods which from what i heard was pretty awesome and i trust them. One of the guys was actually lucky enough to hit the course and get a quick nine holes in before our video session at 7 p.m. Besides that Total War and Sixtyforce(N64 on computers) has been the major benefactor of our free time yet again. Tomorrow we get after it against Puerto Rico and we're all very excited to play them. Until tomorrow.

Hello USA,

WE WON OUR POOL! We beat Mexico advancing us into the semifinals and giving us a day off. We played very well, our coaches did a phenomenal job with the scouting report and we executed the game plan to perfection allowing us to pull of that win without dropping a set. We're still yet to drop a set this tournament (knock on wood). All of our guys played great and we're all very excited over our win. Tomorrow we have the day off and have a full practice planned getting us ready for our next opponent Puerto Rico. They will be the strongest and most physical team we've faced thus far in the tournament. Hopefully we'll be able to get after it tomorrow against them and be able to pull off another great win, giving us an automatic berth to Istanbul and an opportunity to repeat as gold medalist at Junior NORCECA Championships. Until tomorrow.

Hello America,

Matt West again, reporting to you guys on our victory over St. Vincent. We had a very solid serve and pass to start off the day. For the last few days we've been focusing primarily on very minute details of our system and polishing up on our defense and attacking. Like the days before we spent most of our day sleeping, gaming, and social networking. After an outstanding PowerPoint presentation created by Coach Hosack we felt prepared for our match. The scouting paid off as we went on and took down St.Vincent with enthusiasm. Later that night after our win a couple of the guy went up to the third floor to play some poker. According to DJ he had the game on lock down with three aces. Until Driss took his first look at his hand and ended up smacking DJ with his hand. After that everyone who played was pretty devastated and flocked to their rooms to knock out for the night. Now we spend our time waiting for the opportunity to beat Mexico in our match tomorrow.

What's happening America,

It's Matt West here again, i've been given the honor of being the official blogger for the MJNT. I'm extremely excited to be able to share with you guys what we do. A majority of us spend the day sleeping, tweeting, facebooking, playing Total War (Tony Ensbury), or playing subway surfer. For the next two days we'll have the same schedule consisting of us waking up at 9 for breakfast, having practice at 10 then posting up for the next 3 to 4 hours in our dorms. To say the least our team doesn't lack nap time. Yesterday we took on our first opponent of the qualifier, Honduras. We were very energized and well rested after our long break time and were ready to face our opponents. A very young and talented team they just like us worked hard. Everyone on our squad was given the opportunity to play. We all gave our best efforts and were able to come out of the match with our first and hopefully not last win of the tournament. My roommate Micah and I were lucky enough to be able to run a 6-2 in the first set again Honduras for the first time since we were 14.  We celebrated our win by coming together in one room and playing subway surf and total war for the next three hours. Soon after the gaming had ended we all decided to call it a night and begin preparing for the next match to come the next night against St. Vincent.

God Bless America
