INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2013 – Formed new partnership with Jake Gibb. The pair won the first FIVB Grand Slam of the year in Shanghai, then took silver medals in the next two international events, the Grand Slam in Corrientes, Argentina and the World Cup Final in Brazil. The team also took third at the Gstaad Grand Slam and won the World Series Cup in Long Beach, Calif. 2011 – Patterson competed in nine FIVB events, eight with Brad Keenan and one with Casey Jennings. Keenan and Patterson’s best finishes were ninth place in Brasilia, Brazil and Beijing, China.

DOMESTIC HIGHLIGHTS: 2013 – With new partner Jake Gibb, medaled in all seven AVP in 2013. The pair took four straight gold medals in Cincinnati, Atlantic City, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Santa Barbara, Calif. They won bronze in Salt Lake City, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Huntington Beach, Calif. 2012 – Casey and Ryan Doherty competed in 11 domestic events. They won the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Series events in Belmar, N.J., and Chicago. They also won the NVL event in Baltimore. Finished second at the Jose Cuervo event in Manhattan Beach and third in Huntington Beach and Milwaukee. 2011 – Won the NVL event in Aspen, Colo., with Sean Rosenthal. 2010 – Competed in seven AVP events with Kevin Wong before the Tour ceased operations. Best finishes were third in Huntington Beach and Belmar, N.J. 2009 – Competed in 15 AVP Tour events, 14 with Ty Loomis (the other was the King of the Beach). Patterson and Loomis won the Brooklyn stop and finished fifth in Huntington Beach and Hermosa Beach. 2008 – Competed in 13 AVP events with various partners. Best finish was ninth in Miami with John Moran and ninth in Long Beach with Canyon Ceman. 2007 – Competed in eight AVP events, seven with Kyle Denitz. Best finish was 25th. 2006 – Competed in four AVP events. 2004 – Competed in four AVP events. 2003 – Competed in three AVP qualifiers.

INDOOR HIGHLIGHTS: Has played professionally in Puerto Rico and Sweden… Played setter and opposite for BYU in 1999 and 2002-05… Played in every match during his senior year, competing in 105 of 111 sets... Was named to the Outrigger Invitational and the Hall of Fame Morgan Classic all-tournament teams in 2005… Attended high school at Newbury Park High School in Newbury, Calif., where he played volleyball… Earned team MVP honors at Newbury Park... listed as one of Southern California's "Players to Watch" ... Held the single-season and career assist records at Newbury Park High School... Also played for Club Santa Barbara.

PERSONAL: Parents are Steven and Nancy Patterson… One of four children… Was an Eagle Scout and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Little Rock, Ark. … Graduated from BYU with a degree in recreational management... Married wife Lexi in 2005. Has two children, Cash (2009) and Guy (2011). Casey’s Christmas wish for 2013 was to see his sons pepper together… Is well-known for shouting “Boom,” which he once had shaved into his hair.
