Quotable Joseph Ong: "I want to thank my parents for supporting me in taekwondo. I'm very grateful for them taking me to practice throughout every week, always being there for me, and always encouraging me. I also thank Master Henry Cruz for being my master and coach. Most importantly, I thank him for training me and letting me be a part of Manila TKD. I thank all the students at Manila TKD for supporting me and training with me throughout my time there. I could not be where I am today without them. I want to really thank Sabomnim Chino Cruz for being my coach at the 2012 U.S. Open. The road was tough but I thank him for guiding me in each match and doing everything in his power to get me to the top of the mountain. I want to give special thanks to every competitor that I have fought. I have learned a lot from those fights, and they have my utmost respect. I want to give my biggest thanks to God and all He has done for me. It is not my will but God's will to be done. My father always reminds me of two things: (1) Talent is God-given, be humble. Fame is man-given, be grateful. Conceit is self-given, be careful. (2) It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. Salamat po !!!!"
