The Lily Yip Table Tennis Center and Academy serves the Central New Jersey community. Lily Yip, a 1992 and 1996 Olympian and a 2004 inductee into the USA Table Tennis Hall of Fame, has dedicated her life to teaching, playing and promoting table tennis.
The Lily Yip Table Tennis Center is located in Dunellen, NJ, which has been designated as an ITTF Hotspot for the development of US table tennis. Lily Yip’s club has grown to be one of the premier table tennis clubs on the East Coast, which shows why Lily Yip Table Tennis Center has been selected to be a National Center of Excellence.
Lily Yip has coached and trainer a variety of talented table tennis players, but her most notable pupils are her two children. Adam and Judy Hugh won the 2010 US National Championship in mixed doubles. Adam also won the 2006 Collegiate Men’s Championship in singles while Judy won the 2009 Collegiate Women’s Championship in singles.
The Lily Tip Table Tennis Center is especially proud of their commitment to both table tennis and education. Adam graduated from Princeton University in 2010 and Judy is a student at Rutgers University. Other students of Lily Yip Tennis Center have gone onto pursue educations at prestigious Ivy League university, such as Harvard, Columbia and Dartmouth.
The Lily Yip Table Tennis Center has hosted several table tennis tournaments over the past decade. Those tournaments include the 2010 Tinsue FIT Open and 2006 Garden State Open. Lily Yip’s effort to have table tennis grow in popularity throughout the New Jersey/ New York City Area has made a great impact on the sport and has not gone unnoticed.
