Fund raising efforts at USA Roller Sports Indoor National Championships prove to be successful for 24 person team

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA July 31, 2014 As the "Last Lap" at the Pershing Auditorium came to an end for the USA Roller Sports National Championships, Team USA held their heads high in their fund raising efforts. Team USA consisting of 12 Jr skaters and 12 Sr skaters will travel to Rosario, Argentina this coming November to represent our country at the World Championships for Inline Speed Skating. Over 50 countries will be present and competing for the Gold. This year each skater is required to raise approximately $5000.00.

At the Indoor National Championships Team USA raised over $10,000.00 for their travel fund. Activities included Team USA poster sales, photo booth, silent auction, and 50/50 raffles. Team USA skaters and their families put in many hours to make it happen, as well as compete in their respective events. All said and done each member received just under $500.00 for their efforts.

In addition to the skaters working their Team USA booth and selling products there were several individuals that donated to the cause. Anita Bell and Brian Geisel donated to Team USA and we appreciate every dollar.

During the Indoor National Championships four Team USA members were competing at the Pan American Olympic Festival in Mexico. These skaters came home with several medal placements while representing Team USA. Even though they were unable to participate in the fund raising activities these skaters also received their portion of the funds raised.

With three and a half months before the World Championships Team USA is working to raise the remaining funds of approximately $125,000.00 combined. The team thanks all the supporters, family and friends for helping us reach our dreams. We are working hard to bring home the hardware for USA.

Together we are stronger.
