The Men’s National Championship in Modern Pentathlon lived up to its’ pre-event excitement. Nathan Schrimsher took home the gold medal with solid performances across the board in all five sports, but it was Sgt. Dennis Bowsher’s performance in earning the silver that brought the crowd to their feet. Bowsher ran and shot himself up from 7th position to the silver medal over the 4x800 meter course at the US Olympic Training Center Saturday. Finishing third was Canada’s Josh Ryker-Fox followed by Brendan Anderson of Colorado Springs. Brendan will be competing in the Youth Olympic Games later this summer in Nanjing, China.
In the Junior division Anderson easily won the gold medal and championship title with a surprise performance by Tim Vandlaarhoven from Minneapolis taking the silver and Lucas Schrimsher the bronze.
