A full list of criteria and the application can be found by clicking the ‘Host Application’ tab to the left.

How much does the program cost? What equipment comes in a box?

It's absolutely free of charge! If your organization is awarded a program, USA Field Hockey and Harrow Sports will ship your equipment and curriculum at no cost. Harrow Sports will provide 24 sticks, 24 balls, 12 cones, a carrying bag and a curriculum. Additional equipment can be purchased online.

What do I do with the equipment after our Fundamental Field Hockey program is complete?

Use it again! The equipment is designed to stay at the facility so it has the opportunity to be used by hundreds of children year round!

What facilities are necessary for this program?

Fundamental Field Hockey can be played on almost any smooth surface! A grass field, a gymnasium floor, a multipurpose room, a turf field… even a tennis court!

Who will staff this program?

The Host is responsible and liable for the primary staff of this program. However, if additional coaching assistance is needed the Local Club is also available per their schedule.

Does my organization need to know about field hockey?

Absolutely not! Although field hockey knowledge would help, it is in no means necessary. USA Field Hockey will be providing a free coaching curriculum in each equipment box we ship out. The curriculum will stress the basic teaching tools of the sport, which are similar to that of soccer. Additional coaching resources will be available online.

If you are interested in learning more about the sport, USA Field Hockey has teamed up with the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) to offer a Level I online coaching course.
