Kayla DeBord, a Junior Female Recurve Archer, hails from Victoria, Texas.  She is a member of the South Texas JOAD and is coached by Staten Holmes.  Kayla began shooting at the age of 10 years old as a member of the 4-H.  An interesting fact about DeBord is that in a world of right-handed archers, she competes as a left-handed shooter.  Along with archery DeBord is a member of Student Council and is a member of the FFA.  Other hobbies include water skiing and shopping!

Kayla lists her greatest achievements in archery of qualifying for two junior world teams.  She will be representing USA at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Ogden, UT.  In the next year DeBord has a goal of graduating high school and beginning her studies in pharmacy while competing as a Texas A&M Aggie.  Her greatest influence has been Staten Holmes because of he is an outstanding archer in which she continues to learn from all the time.
