COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – U.S. Paralympics, a division of the United States Olympic Committee, today announced its roster of 45 U.S. athletes, including four tandem pilots, who will represent Team USA at the International Cycling Union Para-cycling Road World Championships in Greenville, South Carolina, from Aug. 28-Sept. 1.

Twenty-eight males and 17 females make up the largest ever Para-cycling team to compete in an international event for Team USA. Nineteen of the athletes named to the roster are U.S. Paralympians, with four athletes competing at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games: Dan Cnossen (Topeka, Kansas), Monica Bascio (Evergreen, Colorado) and Oksana Masters (Louisville, Kentucky), in Nordic skiing (biathlon and/or cross-country skiing), while Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colorado) competed in alpine skiing. Sochi marked the seventh consecutive Games for Jones.

The team is highlighted by seven athletes who won road world titles in 2013, including: Bascio, Muffy Davis (Salt Lake City, Utah), Megan Fisher (Missoula, Montana), Jones, Aaron Keith (Woodinville, Washington), Greta Neimanas (Asheville, North Carolina) and Jamie Whitmore (Mount Aukum, California).

“We are going to Greenville with the largest and most decorated Para-cycling team ever to compete at the world championships, and I’m confident our athletes will defend our title as the world's No. 1 Para-cycling team,” said Ian Lawless, high performance director for U.S. Paralympics cycling. “I know our athletes are motivated and excited to perform at their best on home soil in front of friends, fans and family, and I can't wait to show Greenville, South Carolina, and America what our amazing Team USA athletes can do."

There are 15 active duty or retired military veterans on the U.S. roster, with eight from the Army, five from the Navy and four from the Marine Corps. Jason Kimball (Charlotte, North Carolina) served in both the Marine Corps and the Army.
