Walter Dix (Tallahassee, Fla.) ran a personal best 9.91 seconds to win the bronze medal in the men's 100m dash Saturday night at Beijing's National Stadium.
Usain Bolt of Jamaica won the gold medal, setting a world record with his time of 9.69 seconds. Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago took the silver with a 9.89. American Darvis Patton (Fort Worth, Texas) was eighth with a 10.03.
