VANCOUVER, British Columbia(AP) British Columbia's highest court says Vancouver Olympic officials had no power to include women's ski jumping in the 2010 Winter Games so they could not be found to be violating athletes' rights.
A group of women ski jumpers lost an appeal last week of a lower court ruling that allowed organizers to hold a men's ski jumping competition but not a women's event - something the women argued violates Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The B.C. Appeal Court said on Friday that it dismissed the case because the decision about which events are included in the Olympics rests solely with the International Olympic Committee.
