Dalhausser wins FIVB year-end awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The FIVB has named U.S. beach volleyball player Phil Dalhausser the Best Offensive Player, Best Hitter and Best Setter of the men's 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Tour.

The results were based on votes by SWATCH representatives, players, coaches, referees and officials associated with the international beach volleyball circuit.

It was the third time Dalhausser (Ormond Beach, Fla.) has won the FIVB hitting award, the second for offensive player and the first for the setting award.

Dalhausser finished second in voting for Most Inspirational Player behind Brazil's Harley Marques. He finished second to Germany's Jonas Reckermann for the Best Blocker award.

Dalhausser received votes for Sportsman of the Year as did U.S. player Casey Jennings (Las Vegas, Nev.).
