2009 Australian Youth Olympic Festival

The Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) was initiated by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) following the success of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The best young athletes from around the world converge on Sydney to compete at Olympic venues over five days of competition. The Festival was first held in Sydney in January 2001, and has been held bi-annually ever since. In 2009 the Festival will be held from January 14-18 and will feature a U.S. delegation comprised of 46 athletes and 20 officials.
