PUBLIC NOTICE

UNITED STATES OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

APPLICATION BY USA RUGBY TO TRANSFER FROM RECOGNIZED SPORT ORGANIZATION STATUS TO OLYMPIC SPORT ORGANIZATION STATUS FOR THE SPORT OF RUGBY 

This serves as public notice pursuant to Section 220521(b) of the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act and Article X, Section 8.18 of the USOC Bylaws that the United States Olympic Committee ("USOC") will hold two public hearings to consider the application that has been submitted to transfer membership in the USOC from a Recognized Sport Organization to an Olympic Sport Organization 

A copy of the application is available on the USOC's website at http://www.usolympicteam.com/12699.htm.  Bylaws and additional information about the sport can be viewed at usarugby.org.

The first public hearing will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009,

from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, MST at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center, 1 Olympic Plaza, 80909 in the President's Conference Room of the Visitor Center.  Individuals who would like to participate via conference call can do so by dialing toll free (866) 205-3978, access code 9969956.

A second public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, MST at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center, also in the President's Conference Room of the Visitor Center.  Individuals who would like to participate via conference call can do so by dialing toll free (866) 205-3978, access code 9969956.
