Taheri wins gold, Goldman & Nakamura silvers in Greco on last day of Veterans Worlds in Bosnia

SARAJEVO, Bosnia -- Mohammad Taheri of Pittsburgh, Pa. won a gold medal at 76 kg in Div. G on the final day of Greco-Roman at the Veterans World Championships on Sunday

Taheri pinned Galip Tahran of Turkey in the finals to claim the gold medal. It was his second medal of the Veterans World Championships after winning a silver in men's freestyle earlier in the week.

The USA had a pair of silver medals in Div. A from Jason Goldman of Binghamton, N.Y. at 58 kg and Michael Nakamura of Elko, Nev. at 63 kg.

Goldman opened up with wins over opponents from Germany and Azerbaijan. He was defeated in the finals by Grigori Buliga of France, 0-8. It was Goldman's second medal of the competition, to go along with a gold medal in men's freestyle.

Nakamura was defeated in the finals by A. Serebrinnikov of Russia, 1-9.

When combined with freestyle, the United States won 27 medals at the Veterans World Championships, including six golds.
