NEW YORK, N.Y. – 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo./Army WCAP) earned a spot in the gold-medal finals at 67 kg/147.5 lbs. at the New York AC International on Friday. Miller is competing in her first event since winning her Olympic bronze at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

Randi Miller opened with three straight 8-0 technical falls, beating Natasha Li Galarza of Lindenwood-Belleville, then Larissa D’Alleva of Canada and Erin Clodgo of the Sunkist Kids in order. She will face two-time Junior World champion Dorothy Yates of Canada in the gold-medal finals.

“I felt pretty good. It is a lot of fun. I am so happy to be here and be able to do this today,” said Miller after her semifinal win. “I am just out there. Before I got here, coach Seiko (Yamamoto) said to get a good warmup and don’t stop moving and that’s what I am trying to do.”

There are 13 Americans who have guaranteed a spot in the finals in the women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman divisions. One weight class is a round-robin in the women’s draw. In Greco-Roman, there is at least one American in each finals.

In Greco-Roman, two-time Olympian Spencer Mango (Colorado Springs, Colo./Army WCAP) has reached the finals, where he will battle Seunghak Kim of Korea.

2012 Olympian Ben Provisor (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) has moved up to 84 kg/185 lbs. for this event, and has reached the finals, where he will battle another American, Josef Rau (Chicago, Ill./Minnesota Storm).
