Sep 14 Britain Bound: Cejudo Day 3

Sep 14, 2011, 1:58 PM ET

Today, I was in Liverpool where I met the students at Liverpool Community College, went to the Museum of Liverpool, got to steer a ferry, went to the Cavern Club where the Beatles started and rode the Echo Wheel. Meeting the students was an awesome experience and it gave me a chance to tell my story to inspire younger kids.

Why do you tell your story?

There are a lot of people out there that need help – they don’t have the direction, so I tell my story to inspire.

What did you do right after telling your story?

I had the opportunity to help present the school with a plaque because of their efforts and commitment to learning about the Olympics through Get Set.

What did you do at the Museum of Liverpool?

I learned about boxing history from the curator of the sports (memborabilia) exhibit. I learned there are over 30 – 40 boxing clubs around Liverpool.

Dinner - How was it?

It was great – I had Thai coconut green curry.  I thought it was only going to be traditional food, but they also have a lot of modern cuisine from all over including Japanese and Thai.

What was your favorite thing that you saw/did?

My favorite experience was not only to ride the ferry, but getting to steer it – it was cool.

What is something you never knew about Liverpool?

I had no idea the Beatles came from Liverpool.

Three words to describe Liverpool:

Legacy, the people and enthusiasm.

Today's highlight?

My highlight of Liverpool, was getting to go on the bridge of the ferry and steer the ferry with the First Mate.
