Daton Fix (Sand Springs, Okla./Team USA) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Fix earned a silver medal for the U.S. at the Youth Olympic Games on Aug. 27 in Nanjing, China.

Fix rolled into the finals with victories over Elmedin Sejfulau of Macedonia (10-0), Reynhardt Louw of South Africa (6-1) and Ebrahim Abdullah Ali Al-Shebami of Yemen (14-4).

In the gold-medal bout, Fix dropped a 7-6 decision to Kazakhstan’s Mukhambet Kuatbek in freestyle wrestling at 54 kg/119 lbs.

Fix was one of three Americans to earn silver medals at the Youth Olympic Games. Mason Manville won a silver medal in Greco-Roman and Cade Olivas also won a silver medal in freestyle.

Fix won a coveted USA Wrestling Cadet Triple Crown in 2013 after earning Cadet Nationals titles in folkstyle, Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling.
