Clayton Foster named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

Clayton Foster (Laramie, Wyo./Cowboy WC) has been named Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Foster went 4-0 at 86 kg/189 lbs. to lead the United States to a third place finish at the World Cup in freestyle wrestling on Saturday and Sunday at the Forum in Los Angeles.

Foster scored an impressive 7-2 win over two-time World champion Ibragim Aldatov of Ukraine in the final U.S. dual.

One night earlier, he earned a win over Olympic and World bronze medalist Ehsan Lashgari of Iran.

Foster also earned wins against India and Turkey in the event.

Foster placed second at the 2013 U.S. World Team Trials.
