Jacob Warner named Wrestler of the Week

Jacob Warner (Tolono, Ill./Team Illinois) has been named Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Warner went undefeated in Greco-Roman and freestyle for Team Illinois during the Schoolboy National Duals this past week in Indianapolis.

Warner led Illinois to the team title in freestyle and a second-place finish in Greco-Roman.

Warner, competing at 160 and 175 pounds, went 7-0 in Greco-Roman and 5-0 in freestyle. He made the all-tournament team in both styles.

Warner won all 12 of his matches by technical fall.

Warner placed third at the USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals in 2012.
