* U.S. Women's Volleyball National Team Program – Athletes who have concluded their college eligibility and who wish to be invited to be a member of the U.S. Women’s Volleyball National Volleyball Team on a full-time basis. This program could begin as early as the spring of 2014, or when an athlete’s scholastic or professional club season has concluded.
Also considered for training with this group will be athletes that have remaining college eligibility. Their participation will begin in mid-May or when their scholastic calendar ends for 2014.
* U.S. Collegiate National Teams (formerly the Women's Senior A2 Teams) – Athletes in college and with collegiate eligibility remaining for the 2014 collegiate season may also be invited to participate with one of 2 possible U.S. Collegiate National Teams (CNT).
Option #1: This program will involve a team of 12 athletes and 2 coaches to travel to China for a series of training sessions and matches in conjunction with a separate team representing the PAC 12 Conference. Dates of this program are from June 13-27, 2014. Cost of this program is $3195/person which includes all travel, housing, meals and training expenses, but does not include travel from that athlete’s home to Los Angeles (LAX) and back. For a quick video about last year’s trip, click here.
Option #2: This program is scheduled to take place in Minneapolis from Sunday, June 22, through Tuesday, July 1. A projected 36 athletes will be invited to participate in the program, which will include training and competition at the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships (GJNC) from June 26-30. Participants will be responsible for payment of a participation fee of $600 to help offset the necessary expenses during the tournament (room, meals, entry fee, etc.). Participants will also be responsible for their travel to/from Minneapolis. USAV will cover all additional expenses pertaining to participation at the GJNC, as well as all expenses pertaining to the training camp from June 22-26, directly preceding participation in the GJNC.
Both Options are considered extended tryouts for the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team and are thereby eligible for necessary expenses to be paid for by the athlete’s school if that school so chooses.
* U.S. Women’s Junior National Volleyball Team – Athletes born in 1996 and after are eligible for participation with the USA Women’s Junior National Team. Participation in this tryout will count as that person’s tryout for the Junior National Team as well. Athletes chosen to participate with the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team will have all expenses paid for by USA Volleyball.
