2015 Elite Development Program

Tryouts for the 2015 USAV Beach Elite Development Program (EDP)

When: Women's tryout dates are Jan. 20, 21, 23, (10–12  a.m. each day)
Men's tryout dates are Feb. 2, 4 and 6 (8-10 a.m. each day)
Please attend as many of the tryout days as possible.

Where: Women's tryouts at the beach courts just north of Marine Ave. and The Strand in Manhattan Beach, Calif. (90266)
Men's tryouts on the north side of the Hermosa Beach Pier in Hermosa Beach, Calif. (90254)

Why: After these three tryout sessions, coaches will select a maximum of 16 athletes per gender for a four-week training block with three practices per week. Practice days will be determined once the group is set. The women’s training block will end on Feb. 20 and the men’s training block will end March 6. At this time the coaches will reevaluate the group’s size and athletes and may make changes going forward.

Registration closes one week before the first tryout date. The cost of the tryout is $75. The $75 fee is waived for Beach National Program athletes with 400 or more FIVB technical ranking points. All athletes must pay the $75 fee when registering and USAV will refund the Beach National Program athletes with 400 or more FIVB technical ranking points. To download a USAV membership form, click here. Please fill it out and return to along with your $20 membership fee. USAV will waive the $20 membership fee for those athletes with 400 or more FIVB technical ranking points.

Players who do not complete their membership form and register via the above registration links will not be allowed to participate in EDP tryouts. Athletes who make the EDP training block that do not register for practices via will not be allowed to practice and may be removed from the program.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
