COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Acapulco, Mexico will serve as the backdrop for the inaugural FIVB Beach Volleyball U17 World Championships, where four U.S. teams will compete for the title.

The event was created thanks to the FIVB’s plan for growth and development of the sport worldwide.

“We are delighted to be able to organize a World Championship for the U-17 group,” FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça said in a FIVB release. “We want to give as many young players the chance to experience international competition, because it is vital to their development as beach volleyball players.”

The U17 Worlds will take place July 15-20.
