USAV Fall Magazine Available Online

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 30, 2013) – The Fall 2013 digital edition of VolleyballUSA, the official magazine of USA Volleyball, is now available online with the cover story on Lane Carico as one of the top rising beach volleyball players in the country. The printed issue includes 72 pages, while the digital version adds six bonus pages of content with three videos.

To access the digital issue with bonus content via the Internet, click here. The login information for the digital edition is printed on the mailing label of the printed version received in the mail.

To access the free Apple app for iPad or iPhone users, click here and use the print edition’s username located in the mailing label in place of the box for email address. The password remains the same for both Internet and Apple app versions.

In addition to the cover story on Carico, the Fall 2013 edition contains a wealth of junior-related content. The issue includes recaps and photo galleries of the 2013 USA Volleyball Junior National Championships, how a boys’ junior club from Hawaii has become legendary for going undefeated in six consecutive junior national title campaigns moving up the age ladder starting with the 12-and-under bracket in 2008, the On the Radar spotlighting athletes moving up the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline, USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Championship results and how new junior columnist Jaimee Rindy (Gypsum, Colo.) finds motivation to improve every day. Rindy is a junior at Eagle Valley High School (Colo.) and plays mostly middle blocker for Colorado United Volleyball Club.

The edition reviews the NORCECA Championships in which both the men’s and women’s teams won the gold medal, the historical performance of the U.S. Girls’ Youth National Volleyball Team winning silver in its age-group World Championship, training techniques that prevent ankle sprains (digital version includes video demonstration), Holly McPeak providing tips for watching college matches and remarkable return to the podium for Matt Fuerbringer.

The issue includes regular columns such as The Conversation with two-time Paralympic silver medalist Heather Erickson, Inside the Numbers, Ask the Olympians, Karch Kiraly’s VolleyBlog, 5 Keys which focus on better serving in this issue, Inside the Regions with downloadable and posters, Doug Beal’s CEO Message touting the USA Volleyball Beach High Performance program and its success in nurturing new talent and CAP II Clipboard focusing on developing team culture in this issue and nutrition notes on which milk is best.

The bonus digital issue, which is available to print subscribers via the Internet address above or the Apple app, includes an article on Kerri Walsh Jennings’ return to the beach in style, three-time Olympian and 2013 Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee Caren Kemner talking about her career in both a printed article and video piece taken on site at the Hall of Fame and U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Volleyball Team Head Coach Karch Kiraly and John Speraw giving an exclusive video interview on how to keep emotions in check on the court.
