COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 20, 2013) – To honor the wishes of Dave Williams, the USA Volleyball Foundation has set up a “Dave Williams Memorial” account for donations in his name.
Funds from the “Dave Williams Memorial” account will benefit the USA Volleyball beach programs.
Williams, a native of Brilliant, Ohio, and resident of Hermosa Beach, Calif., died May 14 with his family by his side in a Southern California hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was 55.
Williams joined USA Volleyball as managing director of beach programs in April of 2010. He is the only person to have held the position, which was created by the USA Volleyball Board of Directors in January 2010 as part of its initiative to create short- and long-term growth for beach volleyball.
A tax-deductible donation, as allowed by the IRS, may be made by sending a check to the USA Volleyball Foundation, noting it as a “Dave Williams Memorial” gift. Checks can be mailed to the USA Volleyball Foundation, 1500 S. Anaheim Blvd., Suite 200, Anaheim, CA 92805.
A donation can also be made by credit card via the USAV Foundation’s web site at supportvolleyball.org. A specific designation field identified as the Dave Williams Memorial will show up when credit card information is added.
