Athletes Compete in High Performance A2 Program
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 25, 2013) – Some of the top young volleyball talent in the U.S. took part in USA Volleyball’s National A2 Invitational Team Program this summer in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The A2 Program is USAV High Performance’s newest training program. It is designed to give more of the country’s most promising athletes the opportunity to work with top HP coaches at a competitive, week-long event. Participating players trained for four days as a group, training in all skills and focusing on position-specific skills each day. On the fifth day, players split into 16 teams of eight. For a full day they trained under international rules and learned opponent scouting. The final two days of the program were devoted to an international-style tournament in which a championship was awarded on the final day.
Besides the HP Pipeline Coaches who are also college coaches working the A2 Program, coaches from across the country were invited to watch the competition portion of the event.
