The duo of Adam Cabbage (Rio Ranchero, N.M.) and Rob Page (Rochester, N.Y.) took home gold in men’s U26, defeating Kyle Stevenson (Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Martin Lorenz (Spokane, Wash.) in straight sets, 21-13, 21-19.

“We just needed one side out,” Cabbage said of the final play of the match. “I was like, ‘just get a decent pass,’ and I kind of botched the pass. But Robbie gave me a great set; he made up for it, and as soon as I hit it I knew we were going to win.”

Claiming bronze was the team of Weston Carico (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Kevin Villea (Glendale, Ariz.).

Page and Cabbage finished the tournament with a sparkling 6-0 record. Lorenz and Stevenson went 5-1, while Carico and Villea went 5-1 as well.

In women’s U26, the final match was a battle between the teams of Stevi Robinson (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) and Caitlin Ledoux (Phelan, Calif.) and Leah Hinkey (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) and Emily Stockman (Hermosa Beach, Calif.). Robinson and Ledoux earned gold with a 21-14, 23-21 victory. Hinkey and Stockman took silver, while Kirby Burnham (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Meg Norton (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) netted bronze.

“There are a lot of good teams in this tournament, so it’s exciting to get a medal,” Burnham said. “Gold is the best, but it’s great to compete with these girls.”

Ledoux and Robinson went 4-1 to win gold. Stockman and Hinkey went 3-2, and Burnham and Norton went 5-1.

The men’s U21 final was a three-set battle that saw Branden Clemens (Carmel, Ind.) and Chris Long (Tustin, Calif.) edge Brendan Duff (Carmel, Ind.) and Cody Martin (Tucson, Ariz.), 21-16, 18-21, 15-11.

“I think earlier in the tournament we were kind of playing flat,” Clemens said. “We kind of made it a team goal to have as much energy as possible and go after every point. And it started working.”

Earning bronze was the duo of Skyler McCoy (Long Beach, Calif.) and Austin Rysyk (San Jose, Calif.).

Clemens and Long won gold with a 5-1 tournament record. Duff and Martin went 4-2, as did McCoy and Rysyk.

Rounding things out in women’s U21, Jace Pardon (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Lara Dykstra (Redondo Beach, Calif.) took the top spot after a 19-21, 21-18, 15-7 win over Sophie Asprey (Dallas, Texas) and Becca Strehlow (Long Beach, Calif.).

“The first game was kind of sloppy,” Pardon said. “We just weren’t in it completely. Then once we started getting into the side out rhythm, we started flowing and relaxing and just playing our game.”

Pardon and Dykstra went a perfect 5-0 to win the division, while Strehlow and Asprey went 4-2.

Kamila Tan (San Diego, Calif.) and Emily Podschweit (Denver, Colo.) earned bronze with a tournament record of 5-1.
