WNT A2 Roster and Schedule

DALLAS (July 1, 2013) - The four teams competing in the 2013 U.S Women’s National Volleyball Team A2 program closed pool play on Monday after Team Gold defeated Team Red and Team White defeated Team Blue.

The WNTA2 competition is being held at the Dallas Convention Center in conjunction with the 2013 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships.

Team White received the No. 1 seed going into Tuesday’s bracket play, and will face Team Red (No. 4) in the semifinals.

The other semifinal match will feature Team Gold (No. 2) and Team Blue (No. 3).

Head Coach Andy Banachowski and Assistant Coach Linda Hampton led Team Gold to a 23-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, 25-14 victory over Team Red, led by Head Coach Bill Neville and Assistant Coach Ashley Allen.

Team Gold was led by Taylor Simpson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) with 16 points on 14 kills, one block and one ace. Zoe Nightingale (Sacramento, Calif.) added 13 points on eight kills, four blocks and one ace. Alexis Mathews (Detroit, Mich.) tallied 11 points on nine kills, one block and one ace. Morgan Odale (Star, Idaho) chalked up nine points on six kills, two blocks and one ace, while Litara Keil (Long Beach, Calif.) added nine points of her own on six kills and three blocks. Nicole Walch (Stuart, Fla.) contributed eight points on eight kills. Maddy Klineman (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) earned eight points on four kills, three aces and one block. Elizabeth Koberstein (Madison, Wis.) tallied five points on two kills, two blocks and one ace, while Mackenzie Bigbee (Williamsburg, Iowa) added two points on two kills.

Annemarie Hickey (Oswego, Ill.) tallied 15 perfect passes in 22 attempts (.360 efficiency), while Veronica Lewis (San Jose, Calif.) tallied 10 perfect passes in 18 attempts (.440 efficiency).

Chelsey Schofield (Provo, Utah) set the pace for Team Red with 17 points on 13 kills, three blocks and one ace. Kierra Jones (Fishers, Ind.) added 11 points on seven kills and four blocks. Tai Manu-Olevao (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Kathleen Luft (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) both tallied 10 points on seven kills, two aces and one block apiece. Valerie Nicole (Normal, Ill.) added nine points on nine kills, while Casey Hinger (Fullerton, Calif.) contributed five points on four kills and one block. Moneshia Simmons (Buford, Ga.) added four points on four kills. Courtney Windham (Houston, Texas), Hannah Johnson (Longview, Wash.) and Caitlin Welch (Louisville, Ky.) both added one point on one block and one kill respectively.

Kori Moster (Cincinnati, Ohio) led team Red with nine perfect passes in 15 attempts (.400 efficiency), while Caitlin Welch (Louisville, Ky.) added seven perfect passes in 11 attempts (.360 efficiency).

Team Gold led the match in blocks (14-12), kills (59-52) and (8-4). Team Gold also chalked up more perfect passes (42-37).

Team White, led by Head Coach Mike Hebert and Assistant Coach Marci Sanders, defeated Team Blue 25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 18-25, 15-11 to improve their record to 2-1 in Dallas. Team Blue, led by Head Coach Ruth Nelson and Assistant Coach Mike Gawlik, is now 1-2 in pool.

Lauren Wicinski (Geneva, Ill.) led the way for Team Gold with her 17 points on sixteen kills and one ace. Courtney Thomas (DeKalb, Ill.) added 16 points on 13 kills, two blocks and one ace. Kathryn LeCheminant (Layton, Utah) tallied 14 points on ten kills, two blocks and two aces. Ellen Chapman (Glenview, Ill.) added nine points on six kills, two blocks and one ace. Brooke Mattingly (St. Henry, Ohio) chalked up eight points on seven kills and one ace. Kaitlyn Leary (Parma, Ohio) contributed six points on five kills and one ace. Ashley Battle (Apex, N.C.) also added six points on six kills. DeLaina Sarden (Lawrenceville, Ga.) tallied five points on four kills and one block. Hannah Kvitle (Quincy, Ill.) added four points on four kills.

Carly Cramer (Martinsville, Ind.) led the way on defense with 13 perfect passes in 26 attempts (.500 efficiency).

Victoria Hurtt (Kansas City, Mo.) and Ashley Wittman (Shakopee, Minn.) led the way for Team Blue, each scoring 14 points, Hurtt on 14 kills and Wittman on 13 kills and one ace. Annie Drews (Elkhart, Ind.) added 13 points on 12 kills and one block, while Adreene Elliott (Winston-Salem, N.C.) added ten points on a match-high six blocks and four kills. Chantale Riddle (Roswell, N.M.) contributed nine points on eight kills and one block. Simone Antwi (Fairfax Station, Va.) added eight points on seven kills and one block. Kimberly Dahl (Pleasant Grove, Utah) chalked up seven points on seven kills. Mackenzie Dagostino (Tampa, Fla.) contributed three points on one kill, one block and one ace, while Kristen Hahn (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) added one point on one ace.

Leading Team Blue on defense was Ellen Mullins (Nashville, Tenn.) with 21 perfect passes in 35 attempts (.600 efficiency). Hahn added nine perfect passes in 19 attempts (.470 efficiency).

Team White led the match in perfect passes (52-42), kills (72-66) and aces (7-3). Team Blue held the advantage in blocks (10-7).
