COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 8, 2013) – Three-time U.S. Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings (Saratoga, Calif.) and husband Casey Jennings (Las Vegas, Nev.) added a third child to their family on April 6 when Walsh Jennings gave birth to daughter Scout Margery Jennings.

The couple has two other children, Joseph (Joey), who was born in May of 2009 and Sundance, who was born in May of 2010.

U.S. ATHLETES REGISTERED FOR FIVB EVENTS
USA Volleyball has entered teams for the first two FIVB beach volleyball tournaments of the 2013 season.
Six U.S. women’s beach volleyball teams and five U.S. men’s teams are registered for the Fuzhou Open, the first FIVB Beach Volleyball Open of 2013, which will be played April 23-28 in Fuzhou, China.
The U.S. women will be led by 2012 Olympic silver medalists Jennifer Kessy (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and April Ross (Costa Mesa, Calif.), who finished the 2012 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour ranked fourth and were named the USA Volleyball Beach Team of the Year.
They will be joined by Lauren Fendrick (Carlsbad, Ind.) and Nicole Branagh (Orinda, Calif.), Jennifer Fopma (Bellflower, Calif.) and Brooke Sweat (Fort Myers, Fla.), Jenny Kropp (Grand Island, Neb.) and Whitney Pavlik (Laguna Beach, Calif.), Emily Day (Torrance, Calif.) and Heather Hughes (Fallbrook, Calif.) along with Summer Ross (San Diego, Calif.) and Brittany Hochevar (Fowler, Colo.).
The men’s bracket will include four all new partnerships from the United States.
Todd Rogers (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and Ryan Doherty (Toms River, N.J.) will look to improve on their second-place finish at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event in the Cayman Islands on March 22-24.
Brad Keenan (Westminster, Calif.) and John Mayer (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), who are the only team that played together last season, will be looking to improve on their second-place finish at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event in the Dominican Republic on March 29-31.
Phil Dalhausser (Ormond Beach, Fla.) and Sean Rosenthal (Redondo Beach, Calif.) will make their debut as a team at Fuzhou as will Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) and Casey Patterson (Van Nuys, Calif.) and also Nick Lucena (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Sean Scott (Kailua, Hawaii).
Five U.S. women’s beach volleyball teams and four men’s teams are registered for the Shanghai Grand Slam, which is the first grand slam of 2013, on April 30-May 5.
Kessy/Ross, Fendrick/Branagh and Fopma/Sweat will continue as teams while Summer Ross will join Heather Hughes and Emily Day will team up with Brittany Hochevar.
On the men’s side, Rogers/Doherty, Dalhausser/Rosenthal, Gibb/Patterson and Lucena and Matt Fuerbringer (Costa Mesa, Calif.) are scheduled to compete.
BEACH COLLEGIATE CHALLENGE
USA Volleyball will host its second Beach Collegiate Challenge of 2013 on April 20-21 in Hermosa Beach, Calif. The tournament will be the last sand volleyball competition before the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Championships on May 3-5 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Teams that are scheduled to compete in Hermosa Beach (north side of the pier in front of the Beach House Hotel) are Pepperdine, Southern California (USC), CSU Long Beach, Hawaii, Loyola Marymount, UCLA, Santa Clara and CSU Bakersfield.
