ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2012) – The 2012 Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series will conclude this weekend with the National Championship on Sept. 21-23 in Hermosa Beach.
Among those teams registered are 2012 Olympic silver medalists Jennifer Kessy (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and April Ross (Costa Mesa, Calif.).
Also, Huntington will mark the final competition for the team of Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) and Sean Rosenthal (Redondo Beach, Calif.). The 2008 and 2012 Olympians have announced that they will play with different partners this season. Rosenthal will play with 2008 Olympic gold medalist Phil Dalhausser (Ormond Beach, Fla.).
Other women’s teams to watch will include Jenny Kropp (Holly Glen, Calif.) and Whitney Pavlik (Laguna Beach, Calif.) along with Jennifer Fopma (Bellflower) and Brooke Sweat (Hermosa Beach).
Other men’s teams scheduled to compete include John Hyden (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) and Sean Scott (Kailua, Hawaii) along with Brad Keenan (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and John Mayer (Culver City, Calif.) and also Matt Fuerbringer (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Nick Lucena (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
Play will begin Friday at 9 a.m. with the qualification bracket and continue Saturday at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, the semifinals will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the women’s final at 2:15 p.m. and the men’s at 4 p.m. The finals will be filmed for TV on NBC Sports Network and will be streamed live online at JoseCuervoProBeachVolleyballSeries.com
