COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 28, 2012) – USA Volleyball will provide a wide variety of its Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Annual Convention set for Dec. 12-16 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.

The USAV Coaching Education Department will offer sessions from basic volleyball fundamentals to the more advanced skills of the game. CAP instructors will be current and former U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team coaches and some of the top collegiate and high school coaches in the United States.

Among the staff presenting CAP courses and other subject material include U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team Head Coach Karch Kiraly, past U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon, past U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team Head Coach Doug Beal, U.S. Sitting Volleyball Team Head Coach Bill Hamiter and past U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team Head Coaches Mick Haley and Terry Liskevych. Other presenters with U.S. National Team experience include Bill Neville, Gary Sato, Jamie Morrison, Tom Hogan, Kevin Hambley and Cara Lang.

Lindsey Berg and Lloy Ball, U.S. setters who have both earned medals at past Olympic Games, will present during the AVCA Pre-Convention seminar on Developing a Great Setter.

An IMPACT session will be offered on Dec. 11, along with IMPACT instructor training the same day. CAP Level I and CAP Level II will have sessions running Dec. 12-16. BCAP for beach volleyball coaching education will take place Dec. 12-15 with a sand coaches’ clinic held on Dec. 12. VCAP, or Volleyball Conditioning Accreditation Program, will be offered on Dec. 16.

CAP courses at the AVCA Convention are a great way for interested coaches to jumpstart or further their coaching careers, network among legends of the sport and participate in the excitement of the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship taking place on Dec. 13 (semifinals) and Dec. 15 (championship match).
