COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 26, 2012) – The 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour stopped in Chicago, Ill., on June 24 for the North Coast Open.
Despite the overcast weather, 60 teams from four states made the trek to Montrose Beach for the one-day event.
The tournament was broken down into six divisions: Boys’ 18 and under (18U), Boys' 16U, Girls’ 18U, Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U and Girls’ 12U. Each year, the event has boasted greater numbers and higher levels of play.
“The championship bid offering has been a great draw for attracting teams from outside the region to compete in our tournaments,” tournament director Rick Schanz said. “The level of play is also improving as we attract more skilled players to each event.”
