COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 2, 2012) – The U.S. beach volleyball team of Jennifer Fopma and Brooke Sweat lost in consolation on Saturday to place seventh at the FIVB Seoul Women’s International Challenger in Korea.

Fopma (Bellflower, Calif.) and Sweat (Estero, Fla.), seeded No. 26 in Seoul, fell to Germany’s 24th-seeded Teresa Mersmann and Cinja Tillmann on Saturday, 21-18, 20-22, 12-15 in 1 hour and 1 minute.

It was Fopma and Sweat’s second loss of the tournament. They finish with a record of 4-2.

FIVB beach volleyball challenger events allow teams to earn points toward qualifying for the FIVB SWATCH World Tour.
