COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 10, 2012)— Results are pouring in from the 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour. This round-up of results features the Siesta Keys Open, the Gulf Coast Open, the Lone Star Open, the Fort Lauderdale Classic and the Rocky Mountain Open.

The top three finishers in each age division at each event earned bids to the 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour National Championship on July 28-29 in Milwaukee, Wis.

Siesta Key Open

The 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour stopped in Fla. on June 10 for the Siesta Key Classic.

The event hosted four age divisions: Girls’ 18 and under (18U), Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U and Girls’ 12U.

The Girls’ 18U age division was won by Savannah Davis and Sydney Shinn. They defeated Holly Mattmuller and Taylor Jais in the championship match. Danielle Dodge and Meghan Conway claimed third.

Macie Tendrich and Brittany Pellitteri won the Girls’ 16U age division, defeating Jamie Chamberlin and Alex Lilliquist in the finals. Ali Denney and Jenn Chamberlin took third place.

The Girls’ 14U age crowned Layne Thompson and McKenzie Walker champions. Hannah Richards and Tanner Gauthier came in second while Sarah Duque and Lopez finished third.

In the youngest age division hosted at the Siesta Keys Classic, Paige Canevari and Mariah Walker claimed first place over Ashlyn Banton and Marley Banton. Third place went to Tessa Bohn and Alex Hilton.

Gulf Coast Open

The USA Beach Junior Tour hit Navarre Beach, Calif. for the Gulf Coast Open on June 16. 

The one-day event hosted six age divisions: Boys’ 18 and under (18U), Boys’ 14U, Girls’ 18U, Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U, and Girls’ 12U.

The Boys’ 18U age division was won by Brice Prather and Hatch Brice (LaGrange, Ga.). They defeated Cole Dykstra and Jake Moss (Kennesaw, Ga.) in the championship match.
Gabe Dowden and Nathan Wilborn (Pine Mountain, Ga.) took first place in the Boys’ 14U age division.

The Girls’ 18U age division crowned Alley Hurd and Caitlin Chapman (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) champions. Avery Hoven and Olivia Dailey (Birmingham, Ala.) took second place. Amanda Guarsico and Holly Marut (Birmingham, Ala.) took third place.

Madison Turner and Addison Hoven (Birmingham, Ala.) took third place in the Girls’ 16U age division. Emma Moskowwitz and Madison Wichterman (Panama City, Fla.) took second after falling to Jessalyn Kinlaw and Kierstan Varga (Sarasota, Fla.) in the finals.

The Girls’ 14U age division was won by Dalaney Hans and Kaylee McClure (Kennesaw, Ga.). They won the championship match against Eden Hawes and Casey Justice (Panama City Beach, Fla.). Kiley Brady and Madison Friedman (Pensacola, Fla.) came in third.

Lone Star Open

The 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour traveled to Austin, Texas for the Lone Star open on June 24.

Despite the hot Texas weather, the event drew 116 teams and boasted the highest level of participation in a Beach Junior Tour event so far this season.

The event hosted four age divisions: Girls’ 18 and under (18U), Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U and Girls’ 12U.

The Girls’ 18U age division was won by Haley Hallgren and Ashley Robert. Second place went to Katelin Escueta and Kateland Currier. Aria Hollingsworth and Alexa Richardson shared the third-place title with Vanessa Cantu and Madison Partridge.

Alexa Bass and Francesca Goncalves won the Girls’ 16U age division. They defeated Ava Carnley and Meredith Wood in the finals.  Abriana Palumbo and Madison Ligon tied for third with Jourdan Durante and Morgan MacGilvary.

Avery Arellano and Gabrielle Crowley took first place in the Girls’ 14U age division after defeating Haley Sheffield and Skyler Spooner in the finals. Morgan Seidl and Sydney Hindes shared third-place accolades with Avery Barker and Callie Williams.

In the youngest age division hosted at the Lone Star Open, Angelee Ng and Alina Lam took first place. Second place went to Sarah Sheffield and Harper Hallgren. Holly Campbell and Arianna Thompson shared third place with Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope and Ginger Stephenson.

Fort Lauderdale Classic

On July 1, the 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour hit Fort Lauderdale, Fla. for the Fort Lauderdale Classic.

The one-day event hosted four age divisions: Girls’ 18 and under (18U), Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U and Girls’ 12U.

The Girls’ 18U age division was won by Danika Yoder and Carly Scarbrough. They defeated Sydney Shinn and Savannah Davis in the finals. Third place went to Danielle Dodge and Meghan Conway.

Julia Lewkowicz and Amber Davis took third place in the Girls’ 16U age division. Kaylie McHugh and Nikki Esposito won the championship match over Eva Torruella and Lina Bernier.
Hannah Tannone and Sullivan Maney took first place in the Girls’ 14U age division. Second place went to Randi Fox and Skylar Schoemig while Nicole Decker and Marielle Diaz claimed third.

The Girls’ 12U age division was won by Paige Canevari and Mariah Walker. They defeated Maddie Anderson and Cassie Anderson in the championship match. Ashlyn Banton and Marley Banton took third place.

Rocky Mountain Open

The 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour stopped in Aurora, Colo. on July 7 for the Rocky Mountain Open.

The one-day event hosted four age divisions: Girls’ 18 and under (18U), Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U and Girls’ 12U.

Chandler Thomas and Kendra Swackenberg took first place in the Girls’ 18U age division. They defeated Katie Pyles and Katie Mackey in the finals. Lexi Veltri and Ellen Donnelly shared third place with Julie Ward and Serina Nickel.

The Girls’ 16U age division was won by Jocelyn Garcia and Opal Drapeau, who defeated Haili Barnard and Emily Lambrecht in the championship. Holly Ratner and Ali Escalante took third place.

The Girls’ 14U age division crowned Emily Hancock and Kaylie McHugh champions. Second place went to Morgan Graelle and Sophie Moscow. Emerson Gerali and Karysa Swackenberg shared third place with Allison Hand and Toni McDougald.

Taryn Abbot and Melanee Bauer won the Girls’ 12U age division. Cassie Pyles and Elizabeth Marshall took second. Shannon Stone and Brooke Elges shared third-place accolades with Allison Conor and Ashley Hand.
