U.S. Beach Teams Win Bronze at NORCECA

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 18, 2011) – The U.S. women’s beach volleyball team of Kelly Schumacher and Angela Bryan and the men’s team of Andy McGuire and Avery Drost each won a bronze medal at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event on Rosarito Beach in Baja, Mexico.
McGuire (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Drost (Hawthorne, Calif.) defeated Guam’s Erick Garrido and Andy Leonardo Blanco in the bronze medal match, 21-13, 21-14.
In the semifinals, McGuire and Drost fell to Mexico’s Aldo Miramontes and Juan Virgen, 21-18, 21-13.

In the semifinals, Schumacher and Bryan suffered their first loss of the tournament, falling to the Mexico 2 team of Martha Revuelta and Vanessa Virgen.
