COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 2, 2011) – Kim Glass (Lancaster, Pa.), a 2008 U.S. Women’s Olympic Volleyball Team silver medalist, will be inducted into the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame on Nov. 4.
In addition to being inducted into her college’s Hall of Fame, Glass will have her distinctive No. 86 Wildcat jersey retired during intermission of the Arizona versus Oregon State volleyball match set for Nov. 4. The ceremony will take place in the intermission following the second set.
Glass was a three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American after earning AVCA Freshman of the Year in 2002. She is the only Pac-10/Pac-12 player to reach double-digit kills in every career match. Glass is the school’s all-time kill leader with 2,151 in her career.

Glass joined the U.S. Women’s National Team in May 2007. In her first year with the team, she ranked 10th overall among all scorers at the 2007 FIVB World Grand Prix preliminary rounds. Glass started four of 11 matches in the 2007 FIVB World Cup, helping the U.S. finish third to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games with a 2.45 points per set average.
During the 2008 FIVB World Grand Prix, Glass ranked third in Best Server during the preliminary round. She was the youngest player on the U.S. roster at the 2008 Olympic Games while starting 26 of a possible 33 sets en route to earning the silver medal. She averaged 1.67 kills, 0.33 blocks and 1.73 digs per set at the Olympic Games.
After missing all of 2009 and most of 2010, Glass was part of the first four tournaments of the 2011 season. She averaged 3.56 points per set at the Montreux Volley Masters after starting all five matches. Glass also competed in a primarily a reserve role at the Pan American Cup, FIVB World Grand Prix and NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship resulting in a bronze and two gold medals. For the 2011 season, Glass has averaged 1.90 points and 1.12 digs with a .291 hitting efficiency and 41.8 kill percent.
