World League Tickets for Egypt, Finland Matches Going on Sale

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 18, 2010) – Tickets for the first two U.S. stops of the 2010 FIVB World League men’s volleyball tournament will go on sale Friday and Monday.

Tickets for the U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team match against Egypt on June 18-19 (7 p.m. both days) at Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, N.C., will go on sale through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday (March 19).

The U.S. Men’s National Team is ranked No. 2 in the world by the FIVB. Egypt is ranked 14th.

Ticket prices for the Egypt matches will be:

General Admission: $15
Reserved Seating: $25
Groups (20-plus): $8 
Seniors (Age 60-plus): $8
USA Volleyball Member and Military: $10

Tickets for the U.S. Men’s match against Finland on June 25-26 (7 p.m. both days) at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., will go on sale on Monday (March 22) at 10 a.m. CDT. Tickets will be available at the Sears Centre Arena Box Office, online at or by calling 888-SEARSTIX (732-7784).

Finland is ranked 30th in the world.

Tickets are already on sale for the U.S. Men’s World League match against No. 3-ranked Russia on July 9 at 7 p.m. and July 10 at 6 p.m. at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kan.

The U.S. Men placed sixth in World League in 2009, one year after winning the event heading into the Olympic Games.

The FIVB World League is an elite, annual international volleyball competition in which the world’s best teams are placed into four pools of four teams and play an Intercontinental Round for six consecutive weekends from June 4 to July 10. Each country’s team has a home-and-home series with the other three teams in its pool. Winners from each pool qualify for the Final Round held July 21-25 in Cordoba, Argentina, along with the host country and the best second-place team in pool play.

The total World League prize purse is more than $20 million, with the winning team collecting a prize of more than $1 million.
