SPRING BREAK CAMPS HAVE BEEN CANCELED

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 4, 2010) – USA Volleyball (USAV) has announced that it will host the two Collegiate Spring Break Camps on March 24-26 and March 31-April 1 in Long Beach, Calif.

These high-intensity sand volleyball training camps are intended for college-aged female athletes who hope to participate on NCAA and/or USAV sand teams, the AVP tour and other elite beach programs. Enrollment is open to athletes ages 17-23, but all participants should have collegiate indoor or high-level beach experience.

“With the addition of sand volleyball to the NCAA Emerging Sports List for women, there is a growing demand for high-level training for collegiate sand hopefuls,” said USAV Director of Beach Programs, Ali Wood Lamberson. “USAV has made it our goal to provide quality training opportunities for sand athletes, coaches and officials.”

Each camp lasts three days and consists of a two-a-day training schedule led by USAV Beach coaches Danalee Corso and Jon Aharoni. Athlete-coach ratio will be 8:1 or lower. Athletes may register as individuals. Camp tuition is $235 for current USAV members, $250 for non-members. Discounts are available for groups of six or more.

To register for the USAV Collegiate Challenge and all other USAV Beach events go to:  www.regonline.com/usavbeach2010.

For questions or more information contact Stephen Caselli – stephen.caselli@usav.org – or call the USAV Beach office: 310-364-5214.

Other collegiate sand programming includes the 2nd Annual USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge on Saturday April 17 at Will Rogers State Beach in Santa Monica, Calif., http://usavolleyball.org/news/article/33306 and the USAV High Performance Beach Tryouts open to all athletes ages 14-25.
