COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 10, 2009) – The Iroquois-Empire Volleyball Region was presented with USA Volleyball’s Viggo O. Nelson National Communication Award for Best Internet Region Web Site. IREVA Commissioner Patty Blacklock accepted the award on May 21 at the Regional Volleyball Assembly, which met as part of the USA Volleyball Annual Meetings in Minneapolis.

The Best Internet Region Web Site award is judged on content, ease of reference and aesthetic impression. The IREVA site was lauded for consistent posts of current news content, its navigation flow to other key areas of the site and the quality of information in all areas supporting players, referees and operations of the region. The Viggo O. Nelson National Communication Awards are named in honor of Viggo O. Nelson, the third President of USA Volleyball (1955-1959). The award recognizes organizations which have achieved excellence in volleyball publications, and to encourage others to develop quality publications. The Best Regional Internet Web Site Award has been awarded annually since 1999.
