(April 30, 2009) – With the increasing popularity of beach volleyball, highlighted by the 2008 Olympic Games and the NCAA's approval of sand volleyball as an emerging sport, coaches who can teach this discipline will be in demand.

USA Volleyball will host a series of six beach volleyball coaching clinics in cities around the country this summer, beginning on May 17 with a clinic in Siesta Key, Fla.

Coaches will learn the technical and strategic differences between the beach and indoor disciplines and how to design a beach practice for different group sizes.

The clinics will be led by Ali Wood Lamberson, USAV's Director of Beach Programs. Other coaches, including Eduardo "Anjinho" Bacil will also help teach.

Participants should be prepared to take part in on-court drills.

The cost to register is $50. Send questions to Ali Wood Lamberson at
