Baby Boom in U.S. Beach Volleyball

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 22, 2009) – There is a bit of a baby boom in U.S. beach volleyball these days.

U.S. beach volleyball players Rachel Wacholder Scott (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and Sean Scott (Kailua, Hawai’i) welcomed their first child – a son named Koa Daniel Scott – into the world at 11:11 a.m. on April 3.

Koa was 8.6 pounds and 20 inches long. Both mother and baby are doing well.

"We are so happy and completely in love," Wacholder Scott reports. "He is thriving - already 9.4 lbs! We think he's going to be a big boy - he has huge hands and feet!"

USA Volleyball beach coach and program manager Danalee Bragado Corso and husband Brian Corso welcomed their first child – a daughter named Camryn Bragado Corso – at 6 p.m. on April 20.

Camryn weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 21 inches long. Both mother and child are doing well.

U.S. beach volleyball Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh (Saratoga, Calif.) – who is pregnant with her first child with husband Casey Jennings (Las Vegas, Nev.) – is due to give birth next month.
