Changes for 2014
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HIT
The application of rule 9.2.4 – stating that It is a fault, during reception of service, to make a double contact or catch using an overhand finger action - has been postponed following the Board of Administration decision of April 5, 2013 and will NOT be in effect till further notice. For complete description of the rules go to: https://www.volleyballreftraining.com/includes/2013_15DCRindoor.pdf
ALL divisions (men and women) with the exception of Men's Open will use the new Molten FLISTATEC V5M5000-3USA volleyball. Men's Open will continue to use the international version of the same ball - Molten FIVB Volleyball FLISTATEC V5M5000. There is no difference between the two volleyballs other than the color.
THREE-DAY COMPETITION SCHEDULE
In order to balance the court usage between the two sessions, we decided to match the Women’s “5’s” with Men’s “0’s”. Also, in an effort to better define the club divisions AA/A and BB/B will no longer play in the same session starting 2014. Instead AA/B will play in the first session and A/BB will play in the second session.
Teams must wear jerseys that meet all the requirements as described in rule USAV 4.3.5, but may wear uniform shorts that are similar in color, regardless of style, cut and trim. The relaxation of the uniform rule applies to this tournament only.
The classification “BB/B” was eliminated from Co-Ed, therefore this division is open to any level teams. The levels will be divided based upon competition. Regular Co-Ed and Reverse Co-Ed will no longer be offered in the same year; instead we will alternate them each year.
ENTRY FEE PAYMENT
USAV now accepts credit cards through AES for a $20 convenience fee per team. If you choose to pay by credit card, please scan and email your entry form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
