USA MNT Qualifies for Pan American Championship

USA Loses A Close Game to Greenland, but Qualify for Pan American Championship
The USA took on Greenland today in Mexico City as a part of the Senior Men’s NORCA Tournament. Team USA was fired up and ready to play against the only undefeated team in the tournament. Greenland raced to a quick lead in the opening minutes of the game however USA bounced back and tied the game. The first half was high lighted by both teams trading goals before Greenland took a 16-13 lead before half time. Vladimir Andjelic and Javier Galindo paced the offense during the half. While Danny Caparelli made 6 saves in the goal and Gabe Goodreau contributed 1 save.
Defense continues to be Team USA’s strongest aspect with Jordan Fithian blocking 3 Greenland shots during the second half of the game. Danny Caparelli made 10 saves in the goal helping USA stay in the game. While the game remained close, turnovers prevented Team USA from gaining the lead. Gary Hines and Jordan Fithian powered the offense each scoring 4 goals during the half. USA missed too many open shots in the last 10 minutes and lost 27-30.
With the win of Cuba over Mexico, team USA earned their qualification for the Pan American Championship to be held in Uruguay from June 22nd to June 29. Team USA takes the court for the last time in the tournament March 1st against host country Mexico at 5 pm CST for the third place.
