USATH CEO To Step Down

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Board of Directors of USA Team Handball announced today that Matt Van Houten has submitted his resignation as Chief Executive Officer.

Van Houten, former Chair of the United States Olympic Committee Athletes' Advisory Council and national team goalie, had been the CEO at USA Team Handball since November 1, 2012.

The Board met via conference call on February 6, 2014 to discuss the interim plan formulated by President Harvey Schiller. There are no immediate plans to begin the search for a replacement.

Van Houten will continue to be involved in USA Team Handball as general counsel, on a pro- bono basis.
