Day 3 Women Pan American Championships

May 30, 2013, 5:19 p.m. (ET)

Three days into the Dominican Republic, Team USA is working hard to get acclimated to the humidity and weather. The morning practice consisted of a jog on the beach and an intense core workout. Afterward, the team spent some time in the ocean and hotel pool while regaining their some much-needed electrolytes.

Following a light lunch, Team USA headed right off to practice. This practice focused on game situations and the team spent much of their time scrimmaging against different types of defenses. This gave the athletes ample time to practice the plays that they had spent the last couple days working on.

Some new faces have joined the USA Women's National Team for the first time in any capacity. Each has something significant to add to the team and should provide instant support in their efforts to improve  their chances in qualifying for the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games. They include Agness Armour, Lisa Dunn, Stacy Self, and Ashley Van Ryn.

Stay tuned for more updates as the team plays Canada tomorrow in a friendly match in preparation for their first game!
