USA Team Handball announced today its intention to field women's U20 and men's U21 teams for the upcoming 2013 International Handball Federation (IHF) Continental Cup in Guatemala City, Guatemala, tentatively scheduled to take place April 29-May 5, 2013. Dates are subject to change by IHF and/or host organizing committee.
Applications for both Men's and Women's head coach positions are currently being accepted by USA Team Handball. The men's U21 team will be fielded by fourteen players born in 1992 or younger while the women's U20 team will consist of fourteen players born in 1993 or younger.
Both head coaching positions will be on an unpaid, volunteer basis. Candidates must be registered as members of USATH with at least a Level 1 "Gateway" certification. Detailed information about the certification process can be found here.
Qualified individuals should review the positions' requirements and application forms, both found below, and send all required information to Mariusz Wartalowicz at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, March 22, 2013. The USATH Men's National Team Advisory Committee will select and nominate coaches for the respective openings by March 25, 2013. Selected coaches may be vested with leading or supporting coaching roles for the IHF event and all other subsequent programming.
All aspiring and eligible athletes (members of USATH and US citizens with valid US passport) are encouraged to apply by email no later than Friday, March 22, 2013. Full text of the Athlete Selection Procedures can be found below. Emails, directed to email@example.com, must include the following:
