While the United States was celebrating Independence Day, the USA Team Handball junior teams wrapped up an extraordinary showing at the Partille Cup.

The Women Junior National Team (WJNT) opened tournament play with a strong victory over Germany's Team X-Treem (11-6). After losing their second match to Kungalvs HK of Sweden (10-8), the WJNT closed Group 1 play with three straight wins over Sweden's IK Savehof (15-14), Zimbabwe National Team (17-8), and Sweden's Torslanda HK 2 (2013).

Ranked second in Group 1, the WJNT opened the playoffs with a decisive victory over Sweden's Enkopings HF 21-12. The victory lined the WJNT up against Sweden's Onnereds HK in the semi-final match. Despite an enormous effort, the WJNT saw their tournament end after falling to Onnereds by a score of 15-13. The WJNT left the tournament with a 5-2 record and a total of 105 goals scored and 78 goals allowed.

The Men Junior National team (MJNT), led by Los Angeles Team Handball Club (LATHC) coach luis Palencia, gave an impressive showing at the Partille Cup. After falling to Onnereds HK to open tournament play, the MJNT held their own against Germany's HC Kraainem, resulting in a 11-9 American victory. The third match of the tournament saw the MJNT defeat Lizikonggu Nantong University 10-0. Losses against the Sweden teams HK Varberg (20-8) and GIK Wasaiterna (15-13) would close out Group play for the MJNT.

Ranked fifth in Group 1, the MJNT faced Switzerland's TV Birsfelden in round one of the playoffs. Despite scoring a team-high 19 goals, it wasn't enough for a victory as TV Birsfelden went on to win 29-19. The MJNT left the tournament with a 1-6 record and a total of 48 goals scored and 63 goals allowed.
