On January 26 and 27, teams from Canada, Japan, Mexico and U.S. will take part in the sanctioned 2013 International California Cup Tournament.

In what promises to be another exciting tournament for the men’s division, local and four-time champion San Francisco Calheat looks to win back the cup from returning champion, West Point.

Also in the mix for a chance at the championship is last year’s runner up, Los Angeles Team Handball, who is aiming for their second California Cup. Joining these three former California Cup champions are Vancouver B.C. (Canada), Seattle H.C. (U.S.), Kagura (Japan) and Las Vegas (U.S.).

The women’s division will see action from the San Francisco Calheat, Los Angeles and Vancouver B.C. There will also be a short match between local Centerville Junior High School students.

The tournament will begin with round robin play on Saturday, January 26 at Centerville Junior High School, located in Fremont, Calif. Group stages and playoffs will continue on Sunday, January 27, to determine the championship match.
